IEC 60068-2-11 Salt Fog Testing
IEC 60068-2-11 salt fog testing is to be used to compare the resistance to deterioration from salt mist of specimens of similar construction. This salt mist testing is useful for evaluating the quality and the uniformity of protective coatings.
Upon completion of the testing, a final measurement is completed. This is a visual inspection, and, if necessary, electrically and mechanically checked as required. These results are recorded and included in the final report.
The IEC 60068-2-11 salt mist test report will also include information necessary to compare the specimens tested. In addition, the duration, orientation, and exposure of the device in the chamber will be included. Lastly, the report will contain the measurement of concentration and pH.
