Summary of MIL-G 83528 Regulatory Compliance Testing
The scope of MIL-G-835288 is to establish the general requirements for electrically conductive elastometric shielding gaskets. These gaskets are intended to be used in electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference suppression applications.
The standard provides guidance on a number of material types. The following list is taken directly from the MIL-G-83528 test standard.
- Silver-plated, copper-filled silicone capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10 GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
- Silver-plated, aluminum-filled silicone capable of 100dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with continuous use temperature range of -55°C to + 160°C.
- Silver-plated copper-filled fluorosilicone capable of 110dB of plane wave effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to + 125°C and resistant to solvents and jet fuels.
- Silver-plated, aluminum-filled fluorosilicone capable of 90dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz, with a continuous use of temperature range of -55°C to +160°C, and resistant to solvents and jet fuels.
- A sodium durometer, pure silver filled silicone capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use of temperature range of -%%°C to +160°C.
- Pure silver-filled fluorosilicone capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use of temperature range of -65°C to + 160°C and resistant to solvents and jet fuels.
- Silver-plated, copper-filled silicone, expanded copper foil reinforced, capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -45°C to +125°C.
- A high durometer, pure silver–filled silicone capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to +160°C.
- A low durometer, pure silver-filled silicone, capable to 80dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to + 160°C.
- A high durometer silver-plated, copper-filled silicone capable of 110dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous temperature range of -45°C to +125°C.
- Silver-plated, nickel–filled silicone capable of 100dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous use temperature range of -55°C to 125°C.
- Silver-plated, glass-filled silicone capable of 100dB of plane wave shielding effectiveness at 10GHz with a continuous temperature range of -55°C to +160°C.
