QCVN 54 EMC Testing for Information Devices Online Electricity

QVCN applies to testing of electromagnetic, electronic devices pertaining to how compatible the device is in its surrounding area. As a leader in electromagnetic compatibility, EMC, regulatory compliance testing, Keystone Compliance assists electronic equipment manufacturers with EMC testing. Meeting the IEC, EN, and other EMC testing requirements can be challenging. Not only do we understand the challenges, but we help guide companies through the process.

From concept through compliance, Keystone meets all of our customers’ needs under one roof. Our proven process helps avoid product launch delays. Lastly, Keystone Compliance tailors each test plan to individual customer needs minimizing unnecessary costs and over-testing.

Summary of QCVN 54 Testing of Information Devices

This QCVN test method specifies general requirements for electromagnetic compatibility testing of communication equipment with isotropic radiant power equivalent to 100 mW.

QCVN does not specify the design, fabrication, or work procedure requirements of radio communication equipment. The standard test method applies to Vietnamese and foreign organizations and individuals.

Scope of QCVN Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC Testing

Manufacturers will start by declaring the modulation characteristics of the equipment. Two types of equipment are used to determine the density capacity for each type of apparatus. Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) modulation and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) modulation.

FHSS must use at least 20 defined, non-overlapping channels. The predetermined, or hopping positions, are distinguished by the bandwidth of the measurement channel is at 20 dB lower than peak power. DSSS is different from that mentioned previously. This system uses equivalent modulation methods.

Conformity tests are performed under normal and critical conditions. However, this is unless otherwise specified. During the test, the device’s power supply must be replaced with one test source, capable of generating both normal and critical voltages. Lastly, during the test, the supply voltages are maintained with a tolerance of 1% relative to the voltage at the beginning of the measurement.
