KS C 9610-4-8 Testing – Power Frequency Magnetic Field Immunity

The scope of KS C 9610-4-8 testing, previously known as KN 61000-4-8 testing, relates to the immunity requirements of equipment, only under operational conditions, to magnetic disturbances at power frequencies 50 Hz and 60 Hz related to:

  • residential and commercial locations
  • industrial installations and power plants
  • medium voltage and high voltage substations

The applicability of KS C 9610-4-8 EMC testing to equipment installed in different locations is determined by the presence of the phenomenon, as specified in Clause 4. The KN 61000-4-8 test standard does not consider disturbances due to capacitive or inductive coupling in cables or other parts of the field installation.

The object of a KS C 9610-4-8 test lab is to establish a common and reproducible basis for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment for household, commercial, and industrial applications when subjected to magnetic fields at power frequency (continuous and short-duration field).

KS C 9610-4-8 testing demonstrates the immunity of equipment when subjected to power-frequency magnetic fields related to the specific location and installation condition of the equipment (e.g. proximity of equipment to the disturbance source). The power frequency magnetic field is generated by power frequency current in conductors or, more seldom, from other devices (e.g. leakage of transformers) in the proximity of equipment.

The KS C 9610-4-8/KN 61000 4 8 test standard defines:

  • recommended test levels
  • test equipment
  • test set-up
  • test procedure
  • equipment and systems

Expert EMC KS C 9610-4-8 South Korean EMC Testing

With five EMC test chambers, including three three-meter chambers, Keystone Compliance is recognized as a leader among other KS C 9610-4-8 test labs. Between our capacity and knowledge, we have streamlined the testing process. Lead times on scheduling generally require just a two-week notice.

Our dedicated report writers typically have reports completed within one week of test completion. Even more important than that is our service. We create relationships, not transactions. We do not simply determine whether a device passes or fails.

When failures occur, we roll up our sleeves, identify the source of the failure and work with our customers to determine how best to overcome the failure. This partnership approach is why Keystone Compliance has been recognized by INC. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.
