ANSI C63.4 Radio-Noise Emission Testing of Low Voltage Electrical Equipment
The C63.4 lab testing standard applies to emission measurements of a variety of electrical and electronic devices. As a leader in electromagnetic compatibility, EMC, regulatory compliance testing, Keystone Compliance assists electronic equipment manufacturers with EMC testing. Meeting the IEC, EN, and other EMC testing requirements can be challenging. Not only do we understand the challenges, but we help guide companies through the process.
Keystone Compliance is an accredited leader in C63.4 testing with a scope that is continuously growing. For more information on C63.4, Keystone recommends looking at the standard’s newest version.

Summary of C63.4 (2003 Version) Electronic Equipment Noise Emission Testing
This C63.4 compliance standard specifies methods, instrumentation, and facilities for the measurement of radio-frequency signals and noise emitted from electrical and electronic equipment within the RF ranges of 9 kHz and 40 GHz. It is important to note that this electromagnetic compatibility standard does not include generic nor product-specific emission limits.
The C63.4 compliance test is intended to characterize device emissions for voluntary or regulatory compliance requirements designed to protect authorized communication services.
C63.4 Electromagnetic Compatibility Lab Testing Definitions
The term unintentional radiator, digital device, and others may be used within this method. These terms are defined below
Digital Device – An unintentional radiator that uses digital techniques that generate and uses timing signals or pulses at a rate over 9000 pulses per second.
Unintentional Radiator – A device that generates RF energy for use within the device, or that sends RF signals by conduction to associated equipment via connecting wiring, but which is not intended to emit RF energy by radiation or induction.
Expert C63.4 Compliance Testing Services
In addition to electromagnetic compatibility, EMC, testing, Keystone has a full scope of expertise including environmental and package testing such as temperature, cold chain, and ingress protection. Our team strives to give our customers more time and energy on product development instead of testing.
