What It Evaluates

Install and operate the equipment in its representative aircraft configuration on a metallic ground plane of at least 2.5 m². Cable bundles are normally at least 3.3 m long, supported 50 mm above the ground plane, with normal shielding, bonding, loads, and LISNs.

Equipment Categories:

• A/B with Levels 1–5: Pin-injection waveform set and severity.
• C–F or G–K with Levels 1–5: Cable-bundle single-stroke or combined single- and multiple-stroke testing.
• L/M with Levels 1–5: Cable-bundle multiple-burst testing.
• X/Z: Test not performed or alternate waveforms, configurations, or levels used.

When It Applies

Applicability depends on the airborne equipment installation, declared category, aircraft environment, and program requirements.
