What It Evaluates
Exposes equipment enclosures and interconnecting cables to swept RF electric fields.
Applies from 2 MHz–40 GHz as required, with platform-specific levels from approximately 5–200 V/m. Position antennas at least 1 meter from the test boundary and use 1 kHz pulse modulation, 50% duty cycle, with at least a 40 dB on/off ratio.

Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.
Typical Applicability
Scan the required range while maintaining the applicable field level and monitoring equipment performance. Use vertical polarization below 30 MHz, both polarizations above 30 MHz, repeat every antenna position required for complete coverage, and determine thresholds wherever susceptibility occurs.
