Applies low-frequency magnetic fields to equipment enclosures and electrical interfaces.

Covers 30 Hz–100 kHz using a 12 cm, 20-turn radiating loop positioned 5 cm from the test surface. Calibrate at 1 kHz and 110 dBpT, with the monitoring measurement within ±3 dB.

Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.

Typical Applicability

Operate the equipment and scan each face and connector, repositioning the loop to cover every 30 × 30 cm area. At susceptible frequencies, apply the full limit at a minimum of three frequencies per octave while searching for the worst coupling location; an AC Helmholtz coil may be used when size constraints permit.
