Measures electric-field emissions radiated from equipment enclosures and interconnecting cables.

Platform-specific ranges extend from 10 kHz or 2 MHz through 18 GHz. Position antennas 1 meter from the test-setup boundary and normally 1.2 meters above the floor; measurements above 30 MHz require both horizontal and vertical polarization.

Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.

Typical Applicability

Verify the measurement path at applicable check frequencies from 10.5 kHz through 17.5 GHz, with measured levels within ±3 dB. Operate the equipment and scan the complete range; below 200 MHz, space antenna positions no more than 3 meters apart, from 200 MHz–1 GHz illuminate each enclosure and its first 35 cm of cabling, and above 1 GHz illuminate each enclosure and its first 7 cm of cabling.
