What It Evaluates
Couples damped oscillatory transients onto cables and power leads at selected resonance frequencies.
Test from 10 kHz–100 MHz at 10 kHz, 100 kHz, 1 MHz, 10 MHz, 30 MHz, and 100 MHz, plus known platform resonances. Use a damping factor of Q = 15 ±5, with one pulse every 1–2 seconds for 5 minutes at each frequency.
When It Applies
Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.
Typical Applicability
Calibrate each waveform in a 50 Ω fixture, position the monitor probe 5 cm from the connector and the injection probe 5 cm farther away, then inject the applicable current level onto every cable bundle and individual high-side power lead. Power returns and neutrals do not require individual testing.
