What It Evaluates

Measures two unwanted antenna-port signals to produce intermodulation products within a receiver’s operating band.

Applies from 15 kHz–10 GHz, with frequencies and levels defined by the procurement specification and receiver design. The receiver is normally established with a desired signal approximately 3 dB above minimum discernible sensitivity.

When It Applies

Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.

Typical Applicability

Inject two out-of-band signals and vary their frequencies so an intermodulation product falls at the receiver’s tuned frequency. Monitor for undesired responses while verifying that harmonics or mixing products are not being generated by the laboratory equipment itself.
