What It Evaluates

Measures harmonics, spurious outputs, and receiver emissions appearing at equipment antenna ports.

Applies from 10 kHz–40 GHz, with start and stop frequencies based on the equipment’s operating range. It does not apply to permanently mounted active antennas, phased arrays, or phasing antennas.

When It Applies

Applicability depends on platform, installation, interfaces, procurement requirements, and the controlling revision.

Typical Applicability

Measure the transmitter fundamental, exclude its occupied bandwidth or ±5%, and scan the remaining range for harmonics and spurious emissions. Receivers and equipment in standby are limited to 34 dBµV; transmitter emissions generally require 80 dB suppression, with second and third harmonics limited to −20 dBm or 80 dB below the fundamental.
